The Tribunal found that it was clear, and admitted by Mr Ogunsina, that he had failed to report to the Institute a criminal conviction for false accounting, to which he had pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court in April 2007. He had also failed to report disciplinary action brought against him by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants as a result of his conviction. The Tribunal considered that a separate charge of failing to act with integrity, contrary to Rule 2.2, was not made out.
The Tribunal ordered that, in view of the gravity of Mr Ogunsina's conduct, the only appropriate sanction was to expel him from student membership of the Institute. The Tribunal ordered that he should pay costs of £250.
