The Disciplinary Committee, at its meeting on 11 December 2007, determined that Mr Neil Macpherson of 24 Atlantic Avenue, Station Road, Witham, CM8 2TL was in breach of the Professional Rules and Practice Guidelines 2002 on two counts.
The Committee found that Mr Macpherson had misled the complainant by stating that a company had been wound up when this was not the case. The Committee also found that Mr Macpherson had failed to submit any tax return for the complainant for the year 2000/01, despite having undertaken to do so.
The Committee ordered that Mr Macpherson be reprimanded and pay costs of £700.
